Despite very short notice an impressive 600 Buriram residents turned out for the Run For Nepal event held at Rajabaht University athletics track.
Put together by Buriram Running Club and the Rajabaht University, the evening was a great success.
121,242.50 Baht was raised in total for the victim’s of Nepal’s recent earthquake tragedy.
Prior to the run a short musical concert was held and a few announcement were made.
Khun Nack, one of the main organisers of the event, addressed the crowd and gave thanks before the Director of Rajahabaht University said a few words up on the main stage.
Khun Nack, Organiser of The Event
The ten lap run got underway at around 6:20. As the event progressed, a few early withdrawals due to heavy rain meant the field of runners had been quickly whittled down.
University Director Addressing The Crowds
A strong contingent of die hards, however, continued on through the weather and completed the ten laps.
Well done to those with the stamina to complete the race. In not the best of conditions you stuck to your plan and finished what you had started.
Although many dropped out early, the true purpose of the event had still been met. All comers had made a donation to the Nepal Earthquake fund to help those in need.
Thanks very much to all that made the effort to come and gave something to help those suffering in Nepal. Thank you also to the organisers Khun Knack and Rajabaht University.
