Mark2A couple of weeks ago a father and son team from Pattaya took part in the BRIC Superbikes Championship. Just last weekend the Asia Road Race brought another such team to Buriram.

We met up with professional rider Mark Aitchison and his manager Dad, Warren. Coming from Australia and a former racer himself, Warren was on his second visit to the Buriram circuit with his son after competing here last year.

They raced in the 600cc supersports class for the Yellowcorn Speed racing team from Japan, Yellowcorn is a manufacturer of race clothing & accessories.

Mark, an accomplished rider, has previously ridden in the world superbike & world supersport  championship before joining the Asia Road Racing series last year.

As well as being a professional team they stated they also have “real” jobs running franchises for Jax Tyres Australia, Warren in Capalaba, Brisbane & Mark on the Gold Coast.

Although they enjoyed the racing they encountered some set up issues on the bike but Mark still managed to place 8th & 12th in his two races here & currently holds 8th place in the championship.

As they left for Bangkok for their flight home they told us  they looked forward to being back in December for the final round of the series & asked us to thank Peter at Buriram Car Hire for arranging their transport to Bangkok.
