A prolonged period of elimination brought our two finalists toe to toe or tee to tee, to battle it out for the coveted Buriram Golf Society Matchplay Cup.

Martin Moyle & Peter Thripp had fought their way through the ranks of hopefuls to stand tall on the first tee on the morning of Friday, 7th October.

Both very capable players, Martin was conceding 4 shots to Peter who was rubbing his hands together in a manner that can only suggest glee, as there did not appear to be any frost about at the time.

Alas, Peter could not find his game in this most important match going down 4 & 3 to a rampant Martin who hit every fairway from the tee in regulation. No mean feat on Buriram Golf Course.

Both players enjoyed the match, regardless of the outcome.

Presentations were held at Paddy’s Irish Bar (The Clubhouse), with proprietor Rod Young awarding gold & silver medals accordingly.
