Due to the great success of the Buriram Times Challenge Golf Tournament earlier in the year, a group of Buriramers took it upon themselves to have a whole other contest to themselves.
In an early burst of Christmas frivolities, twenty four keen golfers donned their Christmas hats and hit a ball round eighteen holes of the Buriram Army Golf Course.
As before, the competition took the format of a Texas Scramble. A clever choice as it takes pressure off the individual and so spreads responsibility across the team. This way its much more fun and far less stress.
Consequently a great round of golf was had by all. It was followed by a few celebratory drinks and a bite to eat at the now well known Jimmy’s Sports Cafe.

After the food was guzzled down a prize giving took place. Prizes were awarded in three different categories.
Firstly, nearest the pin was scooped by the man who without effort is often mistaken for Santa Clause, Lyn Thompson. Presented by Lucky Williams.

Secondly, the longest drive accolade, which due to measurement inadequacies is still under great dispute, went to tournament organizer (no fixing here) Peter Dempsey. Presented by Nikki.

Lastly the overall team prize went to Lynn, Larry & Pedro. These guys must be bored of wining everything by now!

The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and perhaps there will be another similar tournament some time next year.
