If you’re looking for somewhere a little different to enjoy a few drinks, then you could do a lot worse than check-out the Castle Black Bar. It is situated almost next to the Thai Hotel, in close proximity to the railway station.
Owner Jip is an avid Game Of Thrones fan and he is creating a bar with a different kind of atmosphere. I say creating because Jip went to great pains to stress that he is far from finished with the decor.
The bar is a nice size and can seat 24 people at tables and another 5 at the bar. The lighting is on the dimmer side which adds to the overall ambience. Staff are friendly and helpful and if Jip is present you will find that he speaks excellent English.
There is a huge selection of international bottled beers available as well as the usual Thai ones.(no large bottles). A wide variety of spirits and liqueurs are on offer, as well as white and red wine.
They certainly know how to make cocktails and have the biggest selection of them I have ever come across.
If you feel peckish there is a good selection of Thai food on offer which can be ordered from their restaurant next door. Western food such as steaks and spaghetti will become available next month.(May) You can dine either in the restaurant or in the bar.
As it says on the sign above the door outside it is also a sports bar and all major sporting events are shown on the tv screens in the bar. This includes all Buriram United games of course.
Jip is also in the process of converting two rooms upstairs for people who wish to stay the night or several nights if they wish.
They are open daily from 5.30pm to 11.30pm and I for one will be returning very soon. Give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised.
