Authentic Austrian food has arrived in Buriram. About half way between i-mobile stadium and Big C, directly opposite the large Wat (temple) you can find Schnitzel Wirtin restaurant.
Roman, a chef for ten years on cruise ships is the owner of the establishment.
Roman, Ying, Family and Staff
He first came to Thailand over twenty years ago and fell in love with the country. While cooking on the holiday sea vessels, he took all of his breaks in Thailand.
Despite loving Thailand so much, he settled in Cambodia for a few years running ten successful restaurants around Siam Reap. His restaurant brand was rated number three on TripAdvisor for the famous Cambodian tourist destination.
However, Roman finally decided that he would rather bring up his two children in Thailand which is the home of their mother, Ying.
As Ying comes from the province, Buriram was the Austrian national’s choice. They opened their doors a few weeks ago.
The menu is a mix of Austrian dishes. Schnitzels, fish, and Cordon Bleu plates are the stalwarts of the menu.
Speciality of the house is of course the Vienna Schnitzel. The dish is extraordinarily large and comes with a choice of either French fries or roasted potatoes with bacon and onion.
