The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) is forecasting more rain today (June 16th) due to a strengthening southwestern monsoon over the Andaman Sea and a low pressure cell covering northern Vietnam, predicting worsening conditions until June 21st as the southwestern monsoon will intensify while southeasterly winds prevail over the northeast.

Isolated heavy rains are forecast to fall over 60-70% of Thailand during the period Jun 16th-21st, warning people in the north, the northeast, the east and the south to beware of heavy rains.

The TMD advised all ships to proceed with caution, and small boats to remain in port as the waves in the Andaman Sea are likely to reach 2-3 meters.
