Buriram has over recent months received a high level of promotion from a number of different sources. If you haven’t heard the news already here is a summary of a few promoters of Buriran.
1) TAT to Promote Buriram
Last year in November, the TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) announced that Buriram is to be one of twelve highly promoted “12 cities — You Can’t Say No” of Thailand. Although announced last year the implementation of strategies has only begun recently.
2) Google Street View
Working alongside the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, Google has recently stated that Buriram is to be included in their street mapping along with twelve other provinces in the TAT scheme.
3) Hug Buriram
A campaign involving a website detailing many hotels, restaurants and other attractions in Buriram has just kicked off. The Hug Buriram campaign is accompanied by a slick video production and a mobile phone application.
This we believe is a private enterprise and not related to the TAT campaign.
4) Malaysian News Paper – The Star
The Star, a Malaysian English language paper with a daily circulation of about 300,000, claims that, “The temples in Buriram, Thailand, are as stunning as the ones in Cambodia, like Angkor Wat”
Cue a Malaysian invasion.
All of this sounds extremely positive for Buriram and it’s tourism over the coming years.
