Nation to celebrate King’s 70th anniversary accession to the throne.

As the people in the kingdom will turn up in “yellow” shirts to show loyalty and love to their beloved King , the  permanent secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office said final preparations for today’s ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession is now ready.

Prime Minister’s Office Permanent Secretary Pol Gen Aek Angsananont gave these assurances after joining a rehearsal for the alms giving ceremony to be held in honour of His Majesty the King’s accession anniversary today.

The ceremony will also be devoted to Her Majesty the Queen who will celebrate her 7th cycle birthday on August 12 of this year.

Pol Gen Ake made sure all preparations for the ceremony are in place and that its live broadcast is ready.

The event will see alms given to 770 monks, with many ordained under a royal initiative.

Today the prime minister flew by helicopter to launch a water management scheme to celebrate the King’s 70th anniversary accession to the Throne.

He was accompanied by his deputy prime ministers, cabinet ministers and military top brass to Photharam district of Ratchaburi province on Wednesday morning.

Latest news in is that there are concerns over His Majesty’s health and that he may be entering hospital. We sincerely hope that his condition is not serious and that he recovers to enjoy the celebrations.
